Commitment: Part-time freelance (20–30 hours/week), with potential to grow into a full-time role

Compensation: $25/hour

The Working Assembly is a full-service creative agency that builds and grows brands through strategy, design, content, and digital experiences. We work with a wide range of clients—from fast-growing startups to civic and cultural institutions—helping them tell their stories clearly and creatively.

We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive Growth & Operations Coordinator to support our Head of Strategy & Operations across business development, internal operations, and PR. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s interested in how a creative agency operates and wants to grow into an operational leadership role. The position starts as freelance with the intention to grow into full-time.

What You'll Do

Business Development

  • Assist in drafting proposals and responding to RFPs across sectors like nonprofit, civic, and consumer
  • Research and track new business opportunities through portals, inbound leads, and outreach
  • Draft communications and outreach on behalf of senior leadership, including the CEO
  • Maintain our pipeline of leads and client conversations
  • Create case studies, pitch decks, and client research summaries

Operations & Project Support

  • Support staffing plans, time-tracking systems, and project documentation
  • Maintain and improve internal tools and templates
  • Support with scope and pricing documentation in early project stages
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings and keep things moving smoothly
  • Jump in on special projects and operational initiatives that are top of mind for leadership

Marketing & PR Support

  • Track industry events, awards, and speaking opportunities
  • Create briefing documents for leadership ahead of PR and media moments
  • Help maintain media and press lists, and assist with outreach

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a knack for building structure
  • Comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A systems-thinker who enjoys improving processes and staying two steps ahead
  • Familiar with Google Workspace; experience with Quickbooks, Harvest, or similar tools is a plus
  • A background in operations, administration, project coordination, or business management
  • Interest in growing into an agency operations role—think future Chief of Staff
