Our productivity is driven by purpose and process, not place. We’re currently fully remote with an option to work in-office. All applicants should be comfortable operating in EST time zone if not primarily based in New York City.

Director of Brand Strategy

Strategy Team

We are currently seeking a full-time Director of Brand Strategy to join our team. At The Working Assembly, our Strategy team is composed of curious, imaginative, and natural storytellers. They’re inspired by the opportunity to help any type of brand—like startups with 8 people, and 170 year old companies with 8,000 employees—become widely recognized and deeply loved.

Responsibilities:

  • Building long-term client relationships by providing strategic leadership and creative insight.
  • Provide guidance, oversight and direction to teams by developing project plans and leading strategists to execute against the project plan.
  • Author responses to proposals, share perspective and approach to brand building in new business settings

Qualifications

  • Strategic and creative thinker who brings 10-15 years of relevant experience building and leading a strategy team
  • Proven skills across brand growth, brand research, developing brand strategy, and consumer insights.
  • Experience across a wide range of capabilities within brand strategy, such as building brand strategies (positioning, purpose, vision, pillars), brand architecture and portfolio strategies, messaging strategies, brand innovation spaces, conducting market research, developing insights, collaborating with creatives to build brand identities.
  • A deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Excited about creating real world impact within the B2B and B2C world across technology, retail, consumer packaged goods and innovation.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills
  • Strong analytical skills to contribute to clients' marketing agendas by assessing their situations, identifying and filling gaps, evaluating implications and advising clients

Copywriter

Creative Team

We are currently seeking a full-time Copywriter to join our team. The Working Assembly partners directly with clients to strategically tackle branding for fast growth startups and evolving iconic household names. We’re in search of a writer who has a range of category and client experience, and is comfortable working across a full spectrum of client verticals. Our Copywriters work across a range of projects and teams, helping each brand and client become the best versions of themselves. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, writing both internal and external facing language — developing verbal identities and TOV guidelines, crafting branded copy, concepting advertising campaigns, developing scripts, social media creative, etc.

Responsibilities:

In the day-to-day, our copywriters will collaborate with our design team to create copy for brand messaging, websites, TOV guidelines, along with marketing and advertising copy that may include manifestos, headlines, social creative, and brand films. You'll get a chance to work and learn alongside a Senior Copywriter on some projects, but you’ll also be expected to complete others on your own. Ideally you have at least an internship or two under your belt from an ad agency or similar firm, or even a couple years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of prior experience, counting internships
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or other related field
  • Eager to learn and gain experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Stellar writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative spirit

Associate Designer

Design Team

We are seeking a full time Associate Designer to join our team. You will work closely with a Senior Designer and our larger brand design team to produce high quality-work while also honing your design skills. The Working Assembly works directly with clients to strategically tackle branding for fast growth startups and evolving iconic household names. We need a passionate self-starter who’s eager to learn, works well with others but also isn’t afraid to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting design team on projects spanning visual identity, web, print, and motion
  • Participating in projects from initial conception through final production
  • Working against deadlines and timelines
  • Collaborating with teams for feedback
  • Strategic thinking and ability to support multiple projects across different brands

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of prior experience, counting internships
  • Undergraduate degree in graphic design or able to proven branding capabilities
  • Eager to learn and develop design systems
  • Creative and passionate with great attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong typography skills and ability to draw
